The Young Marines is the official Youth Drug Demand Reduction Program of the United States Marine Corps, for the Department of Defense. Although we employ and use certain military disciplines, we are not a military-recruiting organization. Our members pledge to maintain, and actively demonstrate, a drug-free lifestyle within their community. Adult Volunteers aid in instilling the core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment so inherent to the American way of life, by teaching Leadership Skills for a Lifetime, beginning with youth age eight through the completion of high school.
Our program includes weekly meetings, community service to Veterans' and other Patriotic organizations, Drug Demand Reduction, Encampments, Physical Fitness, Rank and Ribbon achievement and a large variety of other activities designed to motivate and inspire our youth to succeed.

YOUNG MARINE CREED
1. Obey my parents and all others in charge of me whether young or old.
2. Keep myself neat at all times without other people telling me to.
3. Keep myself clean in mind by attending the church of my faith.
4. Keep my mind alert to learn in school, at home, or at play.
5. Remember having self-discipline will enable me to control my body and mind in case of an emergency.
